A new website for Hexagon
About time too… finally I’ve had the time over the last few weeks to re-do Hexagon’s own branding and website.
I took the opportunity to use CSS Grids for the first time – this feature landed in the main browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Edge) this year, so it’s starting to become a viable solution for layouts. It does however mean some fallback CSS is required to ensure a graceful degradation on older browsers. I also used @supports for the first time too – that’s been around for a while, but has suddenly got some more attention with the introduction of grid et al.
Many thanks to Paul at Paul Cartwright Branding who created the new Hexagon logo. Also to all of the photographers who contribute to unsplash.com – many of the photos on this site are from the huge library of free photos available there.
