WordPress 3.5.1 released
Towards the end of last week, WordPress 3.5.1 was released – the first security/maintenance release after WordPress 3.5 came out back in December.
All Hexagon clients will of course be upgraded to WordPress 3.5.1 automatically in due course (one of the perks of being a Hexagon client!). I normally hold off updating client websites after a big WordPress release, until the first main security/maintenance patch has been released, as it gives a chance for any initial bugs/flaws to be quashed.
WordPress 3.5 contained a re-work of the media upload facility – so if you go to upload a new image or document, you’ll notice some differences. I’ve given you some screenshots below so you know what to expect… (click to enlarge)
One of the nicest bits in my opinion is the improved gallery functionality – you can now easily have separate galleries on the same page, without having to resort to plugins or manually typing shortcodes. The drag and drop interface to change the order of images is pretty useful too.
If you need a hand using the new media upload the first time around, please don’t hesitate to call.
